It’s been quite a year for Khloe Kardashian. The blondest of the Kardashian sisters who is known for speaking her mind, launched a new TV show, Kocktails with Khloe on E and helped nurse her husband back to health after a drug overdose. She cut out dairy, worked out and lost a whopping thirty pounds. Her latest venture is pairing up with Allergan, the company that makes the new injectable that can minimize the appearance of a double chin with just a couple of treatments.

The Food and Drug Administration  approved the injection, called Kybella, for the reduction of moderate to severe fat deposits under the chin. The active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, dissolves fat, permitting dermatologists and plastic surgeons to resculpt the chin area without surgery. Tiny needles containing deoxycholic acid — up to 50 per session — are inserted into the fat deposits under the jawline. Treatment entails two to six monthly sessions of roughly 20 minutes each. Patients must commit to multiple visits.

Men in particular are not included to undergo cosmetic procedures that require a long recovery, so Kybella is a good option for men too.

Since it’s launch last year, Kybella has been gaining popularity.

“Fullness under the chin, not the neck, is the important thing to look at here,” says Dr. Edwin Williams  “I was one of the original trainers in May of 2015 for Kybella, so I could train others so I have a lot of experience. Khole would be a good candidate in terms of age group because the tissues are resilient and will re-adapt. It’s a non-surgical procedure.” For older patients, we recommend a lift and liposuction instead.

Dr. Williams, author of a new book about rhinoplasty, specializes in natural results.

The Live Chin Up Campaign is designed to help encourage people to not let little things –like an over-achieving chin – bother them and get in their way.  Anyone interested in discussing Kybella with Dr. Williams can contact the office at (518) 539-3296.
