So Many New Dermal Fillers – How to Choose the Right One for You
With the recent FDA approval of both Restylane® Defyne®, and Juvederm® Vollure® dermal fillers, we now have more injectable options than ever before that address those moderate to severe, deep facial wrinkles and folds.
So How Do You Know What New Filler is Right for You?
Based on our first-hand experience with both these new products, Vollure® offers our patients the best overall advantage. JUVÉDERM Vollure®, the latest addition to Allergan’s filler family, is designed to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The hyaluronic acid in Vollure® is less concentrated and more effectively cross-linked than Restylane® Defyne® so it lasts up to 18 months for most patients. It absorbs less water than traditional fillers causing less swelling and downtime while producing dependable, consistent results. And because it lasts longer, it is more economical. Both Vollure® and Defyne® include lidocaine within the injection, which minimizes pain and discomfort. At our Williams Rejuva Centers, we commonly combine fillers to achieve the best results possible for our patients.
Is Vollure® Right for Me?
There are multiple filler options being used today and each is designed for effectively treating specific issues. To determine if Vollure® is right for you, think about what facial issue you want to fix. For example, if you want to soften those lines around your mouth, Vollure is a great option. Older patients looking to soften deep facial creases and wrinkles would likely benefit from Vollure® as well. We think it’s best to discuss your needs with your provider, and let them determine which filler is the best for you given what yu would like to achieve.
How Much Filler Will I Need?
We’ve all seen examples of celebrities that took cosmetic fillers and surgery a bit too far. In my experience, most people want natural looking results so whether you are looking to add to your existing filler options or achieve a greater correction, Vollure® is a good option to help you achieve the look you want. Because it last longer than other fillers, the cost of Vollure® treatments are slightly higher. At the Rejuva Center, we price Vollure® by the syringe, so your total treatment cost depends on the amount you need. The cost of one syringe is approximately $790.00.
