Scultpra is expected to be FDA approved for “volumizing” the face very soon for the cosmetic patient. It is currently FDA approved for creating volume in patients that have a “drawn” appearance due to a medical illness. Here is what Chris, our office manager, had to say regarding her treatment that was performed today. “The anticipation of the procedure was much worse that the actual procedure itself. A numbing cream was applied to my face for about 30 to 40 minutes before the procedure and I relaxed in a quiet spa like setting with soft lights and soothing music in the Rejuva Center while the numbing cream was taking effect. The Sculptra was placed in my mid face area. I want to see a more rested look for under my eyes and more a pronounced cheek area. After the numbing cream took affect, Paula, our Nurse Practitioner began to inject the Sculptra. Immediately after the treatment I saw a fuller cheek. It was explained to me that this after effect is what I can expect as the end result. The Sculptra stimulates your own production of collagen which takes about 6 months to see the full results. In 6 to 8 weeks from now I will have another treatment. It is common to have 2 to 3 sessions. I returned to work immediately after being treated. I would rate this procedure, on a scale of one to ten with ten being the most uncomfortable, a 2. That’s right! Very tolerable and easy. Keep in touch; I will continue to share with you my progress.”
