How

Dysport

Works

Dysport® delivers a purified neuromodulator to overactive facial muscles to reduce the movement that causes expression lines (like frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet). Our team plans precise, conservative dosing so you keep a natural look—just smoother.

Risks and Side
Effects of

Dysport

Most people experience mild, temporary redness, swelling, or tiny bruises at injection sites; headaches can occur and usually resolve quickly. Rare effects include eyelid/brow heaviness or asymmetry, which typically improve as the product settles. Seek care for unusual pain, spreading redness, fever, or visual symptoms. Your provider will review individualized risks and after-hours instructions.

Care Instructions

Pre-Appointment

  • Avoid alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, and blood-thinning supplements (fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo, etc.) for 24–48 hours prior to treatment to reduce risk of bruising.
  • Refrain from scheduling dental work, vaccines, or other facial procedures within 1–2 weeks of your appointment.
  • Come with a clean face—no makeup, lotions, or skincare products on the treatment area.
  • If you are prone to cold sores and treatment is near the mouth, let us know in advance so preventive medication can be prescribed.
  • Eat a light meal before your appointment to minimize chances of feeling lightheaded.
  • Post-Appointment

  • Stay upright for at least 4 hours after treatment; avoid lying down or bending excessively.
  • Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to treated areas for 24 hours to prevent migration of product.
  • Skip strenuous exercise, hot tubs, saunas, or heat exposure for 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications/supplements for 24 hours to minimize bruising.
  • Expect results to begin showing in 3–5 days, with full effect at 2 weeks; a follow-up can be scheduled if adjustments are needed.
