Question:

My chin has a weird texture that I guess is known as ‘orange peel’ in cosmetic surgery.  How can Botox reduce the ‘orange peel’ appearance of my skin?

Answer:

The peau d’orange is a common complaint from patients in the chin region.  The muscle of the chin is tightly adhered to the overlying skin and so contraction of the muscle can lead to the ‘orange-peel’ appearance.  Botox is used to relax the muscle and the irregularity of the chin skin.  Usually a small amount of Botox is used in two injections sites in the central chin region.
